Daniel Egusquiza
believes to dance is to dream with your whole body. Originally born in Peru, Daniel arrived in Pennsylvania dreaming to be able to dance salsa. He majored in Art in Northern Illinois University, but has extensively studied and practiced Latin Dance. He has given workshops and taught classes on various dances including Salsa, Merengue, and Bachata. Life as a dancer has given him the opportunity to meet a number of amazing people that have influenced his career as an instructor. He currently works at the Yocum Institute for Arts Education, as a Latin Dance Instructor; Chill Lounge, as the organizer for Latin Nights; and Latin Flair as an organizer for the upcoming Berks Salsafest.
Stephen Jackson
has trained in modern, jazz, hip-hop, and various Latin dance forms. He has also served as a dance and fitness instructor for more than 16 years. Through careful, yet intensive instruction in body/dance kinetics, his teaching style enables the dedicated student to rapidly improve their technique, all while toning the body and strengthening core muscle groups. Stephen’s over-all dance philosophy is that in order to shake and inspire the audience’s heart, a dancer’s dream must first be born, cultivated, and finally set free from within with unabandoned passion. This principal developed during his years as head choreographer and performer in some of the biggest and hottest dance venues across the country including New York, Los Angeles, Connecticut, and Massachusetts among others. Now, he’s incorporating those spicy, energized influences into his current work as a Latin Dance instructor/stylist at Yocum Institute for Arts Education.
